Talking stick may be used so that individuals can speak until they feel they are being heard. Perhaps each student can read one of the 7 habits (total of 5 minutes before the start of each meeting). Extra points will be given for the Green Teams that adopt The Leader in Me program (a new 7 Habits curriculum for students).

2) When the School Green Team posts its activities or plans for the year, they will be eligible to receive the Hope Award (Hero of Planet Earth Award) from the sponsors. A group picture will be taken and posted on their blog (see above).

3) At the end of the school year the sponsors will give awards to the All-Star Players and induct individual students or the entire Green Team into their local Community Environmental Hall of Fame. Top students and teams can also be inducted into the State and National Environmental Hall of Fame.

4) Sponsor of Stadium ($50-$100) and teacher decide who is to be Manager or Head Coach. Additional Sponsors could be first and third base coaches ($10-$25).

5) Green Team Members who pay their $5 Green Team fee get to choose their position on the roster. Fees can be earned by selling Green Team Guide ($5/guide) and sponsorships for Stadium and each of 12 Categories (right hand column, for $10-$25 each, as decided by Green Team).

6) Positions are rotated monthly. Individuals with highest batting average get to choose their new position on the roster. For every additional nine members on a Green Team there could be an additional team.

7) The following is under consideration: Green Teams can allow for three additional starting player-coach positions. For example, for the Green School and Green Home categories there could be player-coach positions for Recycling, Energy Conservation, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Green teams can add their own player coach positions for other subcategories they are interested in.

8) Individuals decide in advance, with permission from the team and existing guidelines, how many points to receive once they have finished a green task. Upon completion, this raises their batting average. Please see this link for additional guidelines.

9) Fundraising suggestions: $5 plus can be raised from the Green Team's Community Green Guide from each of the following: school sports teams, school clubs, student council, PTA and teachers. If someone gives $10-$25, they can be a sponsor of one of the 12 categories (right hand column).

Since the Community Green Guide contains information on the community, it could be sold to family, neighbors, friends, businesses and other members of the community. Since the Community Green Guide contains information on the school, it can be sold to students. We suggest it be sold for $1 to students.

Individuals, groups and businesses that contribute $5 or more will have their name listed in the eBook. Those that contribute $25 can receive a half-page feature, $50 for a 1-page feature and $100 for a two-page feature.

10) The goal is to receive an introduction to an holistic sustainability education and do one or more activities in each of the 12 categories. The team could then decide to specialize in one area.

11) Each week (every other week or month) students will study the curriculum for one of the twelve categories. There are four fun online tests with 25 questions each (100 total from each category, from Quia). Students could take at least one or more of these tests before starting onto the activities associated with the curriculum. Students who complete the exams will receive an Environment 101 Certificate and will be eligible for the All-Star Team.

12) Students can even receive points by creating their own 25-question test as well, drawn from recommended (or approved) sources. Students will receive their name on the tests. The best tests will be shared with all National Green Team League Members. Students will also receive recognition for improving the Ground Rules in the USA.

Green Teams will Submit What they are Already Doing and Receive Rankings:

Many Ways for Team and
Individual to Be #1
Best Environmental Cartoon
Best ESF Exhibit in Their Category
Best Exhibit in One of 18 Categories
Best Implementation 26 Points CPS
Best in City (50-100 Teams)
Best in Division (5-12 Teams)
Best in Nation (100-300 Teams)
Best in State (100-200 Teams)
Best Neighborhood Exhibit
Best Neighborhood Program
Best of 26 Exhibits for CPS
Best Publicity
Best Recycling Program
Best Ride for Planet Earth Event
Best Run for Planet Earth Event
Best Top 100 News Events
Best Walk for Planet Earth Event
Bringing Most Auction Items Museum
Enrolled Most Athletic Teams
Green Home Makeover
Green Transportation
Highest Book Sales
Highest Calendar Sales
Highest Catalog Sales
Highest Starter Kit Sales
Humanitarian Project
Most Chicago Park Events
Most Creative Green Team Picture
Most Curriculum Students
Most Displays in School
Most Equipment for Museum
Most Exhibits
Most Galleries
Most Green Consultant Certificates
Most Library Events
Most Recruiting New Members
Most Student Council Help
Most Team Members
Most Volunteering at Museum

Many Ways for Team and
Individual to Be #1
Raising Funds for Museum
Recruited Most Colleges
Recruiting Most Cities to Join
Recruiting Most City Teams
Recruiting Most Illinois Teams
Recruiting Most Schools to Join
Recruiting Most Suburb Teams
Recruiting Most Teams in a State
Recruiting Most Teams in USA
Social Justice Project
Solar Energy
Solar Hot Water
Solar Roof
Wind Energy

Hope Award to Env Club
National ESF Entry
Curriculum Quiz
Daily Feature Quiz
Green Home Certificate
Green Business Certificate
HS Sports Spokesperson
League Sports Spokesperson
Green Guide
Blog
You Tube
Award to City Official
Award to Local Environmentalist
Local Green Gallery
State Green Gallery
Award to Top Env SchoolUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0
